Weddings are social gatherings that have become an institution in their own rights for centuries. Until now, despite the evolution towards modernism and liberation, they are still considered as momentary parts of societal norms. In other words, if individuals would like to spend the rest of their lives with another person to whom they think they do experience euphoric happiness (well, at least, ideally!), getting married is the most legal way to do it.
However, a wedding will not be a wedding without investing on certain articles associated to it. One important thing that an individual, who wants to venture in marriage through a nuptial event, should devote upon is a pair of wedding rings. Essentially, this is the inevitable trend and ultimate requisite. And everyone, not even the royalties or celebrities are exempted.
When people hear of an upcoming wedding event, they tend to become exhilarated on the idea of union and merry-making. Aside from that, spectators tend to become privy about the juicy details of the nuptials. It has become secondary to human nature to become intrigued about certain intricacies of any wedding event. And most often than not, what catches everyone’s attention are the rings to be used by the marrying couple. As mentioned earlier, even well-known personalities cannot escape scrutiny from the people around. So anyone could just imagine how it can be a little difficult for Kate Middleton, Prince Williams wife, to deal with the media regarding her upcoming wedding back then; most especially on how to answer issues pertaining to her and her fiancè wedding ring.
Basically, Kate Middleton’s wedding ring is one heirloom piece, of which had an antiquity that can be traced back from the possessions of Queen Elizabeth, herself. Such gesture from Her Majesty has somehow clarified and given light to various speculations that the Queen is not in favor of Kate’s marriage with Prince William. On the other hand, Prince William had previously declared that he will not, by any way and means, wear a wedding band for himself on the day of his nuptials to Kate.
For those who are avid fans of royal weddings, one would be able to recall that Kate Middleton’s wedding ring was the same one given to Princess Diana, as an engagement ring, by Prince Charles; the two being Prince Williams parents. However, this time, they said thirty-two million-pound ring would be bestowed upon Ms. Middleton as a symbol of her marriage to the Prince. Deliberately, Prince William has chosen to utilize it as his brides wedding band in order to figuratively include his mother, Princess Diana, to the most special and celebrated day of their lives. Given the rings history, the issue of having it adjusted to a smaller size for Kate’s fit (size H) has now been justified. Apparently, Ms. Middleton’s digits are as graceful and slender as her stature herself. So, it is undeniable that shrinking the heirloom wedding ring is deemed necessary.
That’s why, as a precautionary measure in order to avoid Kate Middleton’s wedding ring to loosen or fall off from her hand, some modifications were made by G Collins and Sons; as per request by the soon-to-be Princess. Essentially, two small platinum pieces were put as stoppers within the interior circumference of the ring. This would increase its adherence to the brides finger and prevent it from falling off to the floor. Thus, such precious item will stay securely and comfortably to Kate Middleton’s finger as long as she wears it.
